Great Southeast Flooring America is pleased to expand its College Scholarship Program to 10 area high schools and $10,000 in scholarship funds. It’s a way to say “thank you” and support the community that has been so good to us throughout the years.
How it works
This year, Great Southeast Flooring America is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to one deserving student at each of these 10 Brevard County high schools:
Bayside, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Eau Gallie, Merritt Island, Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Satellite and Viera.
To be considered for a scholarship, students must be in their senior year and on track to graduate in 2019. They must be enrolled in one of the 10 high schools listed above, and planning to attend a four-year college or university for the 2019 fall semester.
Students interested in earning a Great Southeast Flooring America scholarship should also be able to demonstrate traits such as high character, integrity, academic achievement, sportsmanship, citizenship and leadership.
A 500-word essay on “how I would use the $1,000” is also required along with a teacher recommendation.
Special consideration for Interact Club members: Great Southeast Flooring America will give special consideration to students who are members of their high school’s Interact Club. Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs and offered through local high schools.
